Description

A yarn that breaks with tradition – crafted with innovation, made for longevity.

Where most yarns are twisted, SheepSoft Fibreknit from By Laxtons takes a different path. Using a specialised knitting head setting on their fancy yarn machine, parallel fibres are knitted into a delicate chainette structure. The result? A distinctive tube-like effect that gives the yarn an airy, yet remarkably durable character.

This unique construction creates a lighter, loftier knitted fabric without sacrificing the soft, smooth handfeel or the enveloping warmth you expect from 100% British wool  blend. It's the kind of yarn that makes you want to keep knitting, stitch after stitch.

Built to last, beautifully textured.

The chainette structure isn't just about aesthetics – it's functional. Fibreknit naturally resists pilling, making it the perfect choice for homeware, accessories and garments that are meant to become cherished pieces in your life. Comfortable, long-lasting and with a texture that tells its own story.

By Laxtons

A family-run business in West Yorkshire since 1907, now in its fourth generation. In 2017, Laxtons brought their entire production back to the UK, investing in a state-of-the-art spinning mill in Baildon - combining innovative technology with traditional craftsmanship.

They spin natural yarns from the finest British fibres, sourced responsibly and processed entirely in-house. Their commitment: supporting British farmers, ensuring high animal welfare standards, complete traceability and genuine sustainability. Every batch is carefully controlled, every step reflects decades of expertise.

The result is honest yarn - traceable, sustainable, and made with care by people who truly understand their craft.
