Pure Pomeranian Wool

Pommernglück PUR is an unspun yarn, known as a “Vorfaden.” It is ideal for creating wonderfully light and fluffy knitted items. Working with unspun yarn requires a little sensitivity and practice. It can be used as a single thread or multiple threads and also works very well in combination with other yarns.

• 100% undyed virgin wool from the Pomeranian sheep on the island of Rügen
• 100g = ca. 280 m
• Needle size:  3 - 6 mm

Gauge (10 cm):

One thread:

• 19 sts x 32 r on 3mm needle
• 15 sts x 25 r on 4mm needle
• 13 sts x 20 r on 5mm needle with 1 thread of silk/mohair

Double thread:

• 12 sts x 18 r on 4mm needle
• 9 sts x 15 r on 6mm needle

Pomeranian sheep have always been native to Rügen, and they can still be found here today. The animals feel particularly at home in the idyllic Zickerschen Mountains in Mönchgut. With a magnificent view over the Bodden and the Baltic Sea, the sheep live a dream life here. For Pommernglück, the wool of the rough-wool Pomeranian sheep is processed exclusively in Germany.
