Knitting pattern - Direction Loop Sweater
Knitting pattern - Direction Loop Sweater
The Direction Loop Sweater is a loose-fitting sweater with a saddle shoulder that extends across the back. The shoulder construction is further enhanced by the direction of the stripes.
The sweater is knitted in one piece from top down and does not need to be sewn together. First, the stitches are cast on at the center back, working first the left shoulder and then the right. Then stitches are picked up on the front of the shoulders and on the back. The work continues flat, with increases for the sleeves and neckline. The work is joined by casting on stitches for the yoke in the round on circular needles. Then the work is divided into body and sleeves, which are knitted one after the other and finished with rib edges. Finally, the stitches at the neckline are picked up and worked in rib, which is cast off with an Italian finish.
